The Southwest Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SWN SCEU) executed search warrants related to property crime and weapons offences at two residences and on a vehicle.
On February 16, SWN SCEU officers executed search warrants at an apartment on Hollow Dr. in Middleton, and on a vehicle that was the subject of a traffic stop in a parking lot on Central Ave. in Greenwood. During the searches, investigators seized the vehicle, a white Dodge Ram which was found to be stolen, as well as weapons including a set of brass knuckles.
A 40-year-old Middleton man was arrested during the traffic stop. He will face property crime and weapons-related charges. A 48-year-old Middleton woman was arrested at the apartment and will face similar charges. Both were released on conditions pending a first court appearance at Annapolis Royal Provincial Court at a later date. Two other people arrested, one at the traffic stop and one at the apartment, were released without charges.
On February 17, SWN SCEU executed a search warrant at a property in the 5200 block of Hwy. 1, Waterville. Officers recovered a stolen BMW. A 25-year-old man was arrested and will face charges for property crime-related offences. He was released pending a future court appearance at Kentville Provincial Court.
After the collection of evidence from the seized vehicles is complete, they will be returned to their owners.
