Clyde River RCMP officer receives Nunavut Commissioners award

On December 5, 2024, Cst. Saad Iqbal, received the Nunavut Commissioners award for Community Service. He was presented the award by the Honorable Commissioner of Nunavut, Eva Aariak, at a ceremony in Clyde River, Nunavut.  

“I am filled with immense gratitude and would like to thank the community of Clyde River as well as Commissioner Eva Aariak for this award. Thank you for the trust, support and kindness you’ve shown me throughout my time in the territory. It has been an honour to have served in Nunavut” said Cst. Saad Iqbal.

At the time he received this award, Cst. Iqbal was posted in Clyde River and had been posted there for two and a half years. In early February, Cst. Iqbal fulfilled his commitment to the territory and transferred to the Transnational Serious and Organized Crime unit in Newmarket, Ontario.  The Nunavut RCMP thank you for your service and wish you well at your new post.
