Iqaluit RCMP charge two men with firearm offenses

On January 1, 2025, Iqaluit RCMP entered into an investigation after seizing a prohibited firearm where the serial number was tampered. With assistance from RCMP National Weapons Enforcement Team (NWEST), the serial number was identified.
After conducting a thorough investigation, two individuals were located and arrested.
Jordan Kovic (age 24), currently in custody, is charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited firearm Section 95(1) C.C
- Possession of a Prohibited firearm while not being the holder of a license Section 91(1) C.C
- Possession of a firearm knowing that its serial number had been removed or altered 108(1)(b) C.C
- Possession of a firearm while being prohibited from doing so by an order Section 117.01(1) C.C
Juston Vincent (age 26), is charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited firearm Section 95(1) C.C
- Possession of a Prohibited firearm while not being the holder of a license Section 91(1) C.C
- Possession of a firearm knowing that its serial number had been removed or altered 108(1)(b) C.C
The next court appearance is scheduled for June 12, 2025, in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
