13-year-old boy dies following a single ATV collision in Igloolik, Nunavut.

On September 19, 2025, the Igloolik RCMP received a report that two boys, age 13, had been transported to the local health center following a single ATV collision.

Upon investigation, police learned that the boys had been transported to the Igloolik heath center around 6:30 p.m., on September 18, 2025. The driver of the ATV was treated for his injuries and later released from medical care. The passenger, a 13-year-old boy, later died of his injuries.

“Our thought and prayers are with the family” said Sergeant Robert Boon of the Igloolik RCMP.

The Nunavut Coroner’s office has been contacted, and police are still investigating.
