Sanirajak woman charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle

On October 8, 2025, at approximately 12:32 a.m, the Sanirajak RCMP received a report that a vehicle was stuck in a pond just passed the Distant Early Warning radar (DEW) station.

When RCMP members arrived, they found a lone adult female occupant in the vehicle. The female was arrested and taken into police custody. No injuries were reported.

The Sanirajak RCMP have charged Mavis Panipakuchoo (age 41) with:

  • Operation while impaired, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) C.C

Panipakuchoo was released from custody, and her next court appearance is scheduled for November 6, 2025, in Sanirajak, Nunavut. 

The RCMP wish to encourage the communities to continue to report suspicious activity or dangerous driving by contacting their home RCMP detachment.
