Iqaluit RCMP lay charge in connection to Arctic Ventures Break and Enter investigation

On January 9, 2026, the Nunavut RCMP published a news release asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in relation to a break and enter that occurred at Arctic Ventures on January 9, 2026.
Shortly after the media releasee as published and shared on the Nunavut RCMP’s Facebook page, the Iqaluit RCMP began received tips from the public. After seeing his photo on social media, the suspect eventually turned himself into police.
On January 10, the Iqaluit RCMP arrested Daniel Papatsie (age 32) and charged him with:
- Break and enter, contrary to Section 348(1) C.C.
Papatsie was released from custody, and his first court appearance was scheduled for February 19, 2026, in Iqaluit Nunavut.
The Iqaluit RCMP are continuing the investigation and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the second suspect.
