Fort Resolution RCMP charge an 18-year old for being unlawfully in a residence

RCMP in Fort Resolution arrested and charged an individual who was unlawfully in an elder’s home.
At 10:15 am, on April 3rd, 2025, RCMP in Fort Resolution received two complaints that an individual was unlawfully in a residence within the community. The dwelling, an elder’s residence, was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Members attended the residence and could see a male inside. They gave direction to the male to exit the dwelling and searched the home to ensure no other person were inside illegally.
David Kevin Ndayishimiye, 18, from Edmonton, AB, was subsequently arrested and charged with Being unlawfully in a dwelling house, contrary to section 349(1) of the Criminal Code.
The suspect was released under the conditions to not be in Fort Resolution. He is scheduled to appear in territorial court on June 11, 2025.
The RCMP in Fort Resolution wants to thank members of the public for their cooperation.
