Suspect in Fort Providence triple shooting arrested

On May 15th, 2025, Krystian Cogswell, wanted in relation to a shooting in Fort Providence that left one man dead and two others seriously injured, was taken into custody.
Cogswell was located in a residence in Kelowna, B.C. after the Kelowna RCMP’s Emergency Response Team executed an unrelated search warrant on behalf of the Surrey Police Service.
Cogswell has been remanded into custody and will be transported back to the Northwest Territories to face charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault.
The Northwest Territories RCMP Major Crimes Unit extends their thanks to the Surrey Police Service and our partners in Kelowna for their assistance in this matter.
