At approximately 8:15 a.m., PEI RCMP responded to call of a house fire on the Donaldston Road in Tenmile House.

The fire had started in the back corner of the house and was noticed by a neighbour who alerted the home owner who was able to safely leave the house. RCMP did close the Donaldston Rd. (Route 219) for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the incident.

East River Fire Department also responded to the call and requested the Provincial Fire Marshall to attend. PEI RCMP contacted the Red Cross who also responded and provided the home owner additional emergency care support.

No one was injured in the fire, and at this time the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
