Stolen Motorcycle Leads to Foot Pursuit and Two Arrests

On March 21, 2025, at 7:20 p.m., Prince District RCMP responded to a report of two people with a stolen motorcycle on the Confederation Trail in Borden-Carleton. Just before police arrived, a man fled on foot, leaving his companion behind. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.

The man who fled was located a short time later by a police dog team. He was found hiding under a camper trailer and was arrested without incident. He was wanted in Charlottetown, Summerside, and East Prince for multiple counts of possession of stolen property and failure to appear in court.

Travis Desroches, 28, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments in connection with this incident. He was remanded into custody until March 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Summerside Provincial Court.

The woman was released and is scheduled to appear in court on charges unrelated to this incident.
