PEI Police arrest Halifax man on firearm offences
On May 14th, 2025, PEI Provincial Joint Enforcement Team (JET) with the assistance of the RCMP Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS), received a request from RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division to assist in locating a 22-year-old Halifax man who was involved with firearm threats offences in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Police were able to locate the man at a motel in Brackley, PEI. At 2:30 p.m. the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) was deployed to make the arrest of a 22-year-old man who was safely taken into custody. ERT are specialists in handling the most dangerous calls police attend and they are deployed in situations where there is potential for elevated risk.
Dreonne Colley-Williams was transported back to Dartmouth to appear in court on May 15, 2025. He has been charged with
- Uttering threats
- Use an imitation firearm while committing an offence
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
