RCMP make arrest for stolen truck using truck’s GPS

On May 14, 2025, at 7:47 a.m. Prince District RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle side swipe collision involving a car and a tractor trailer and on Route 171 in Central Bedeque. Police learned that a Good Samaritan stopped to help at the scene and one of the drivers involved in the collision stole the Good Samaritan’s truck and drove off from the scene. Using the owner’s GPS police were able to track the vehicle into Queens County where Queens District RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service, were able to stop and arrest the 20-year-old man.

The accused man will appear in Summerside Provincial Court on June 18, 2025, to answer to charges in relation to this matter.
