Impaired driver takes flight, crashes and is arrested.

On June 3 at 2:11 in the afternoon, Kings District RCMP responded to several reports of an intoxicated man driving recklessly in Montague, Valleyfield and Kilmuir. The vehicle was located in Kilmuir by Police but took flight and spun out of control and crashed into the ditch. The driver did not suffer serious injuries, was arrested and held in custody for court tomorrow June 5, 2025 at 9:30 in Georgetown.  Unsafely stored ammunition and brass knuckles were located as part of the arrest.

Cody Allen MacDonald has been charged with:

  • Flight from Police
  • Impaired driving by alcohol and drug
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon -Brass knuckles
  • Careless storage of ammunition.
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Fail to comply with release order conditions
  • Driving motor vehicle while license suspended or cancelled.

“This investigation shows the value of reporting impaired drivers. Everyone can play a role in keeping Island roads safe by calling 911. RCMP arrested 27 impaired drivers last month and about 230 last year. Reports from the public made up about one third of these arrests.” said Cpl Gavin Moore PEI RCMP Media Relations Officer.
