On June 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Prince District RCMP responded to a report of an incident of pointing a firearm at a person, that took place at a residence in Clinton.

Police located the accused a short time later in a vehicle and took him into custody without incident, seizing a long gun and ammunition. He was transported to hospital and will appear in court at a later date. The Provincial Joint Enforcement Team assisted by executing a search warrant at a Charlottetown residence that day and seized a further six long guns, body armour, and ammunition.

"This event was a high-risk incident that was mitigated through a quick response by officers who are trained for high-risk takedown situations like this one. I’m grateful this incident was resolved safely, without the police or public being harmed. The Provincial JET assistance was also valuable in the seizure of firearms and body armour, further highlighting the effectiveness of joint police resources working together to remove firearms from those with ill intent.” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, Commanding Officer of the PEI RCMP.
