On July 7 at 9:10 p.m. an officer patrolling in Kings District engaged his emergency lights to stop a vehicle. The driver tried to get away driving dangerously and drove through a farmer’s field damaging the crop. He was later located and arrested at his home.

The youth has been charged with:

  • Mischief damage to property
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from police

He will appear in court later today to answer to these charges.

“Thankfully this is a situation where no one got hurt. Fleeing police, damaging property with your car and driving in a way that puts the public in danger could have serious outcomes that go beyond even criminal charges,”  said Cpl Gavin Moore, the PEI RCMP Media Relations Officer.
