Kings District RCMP respond to fatal collision on Saint Marys East Road

A 28-year-old Charlottetown man has died as a result of a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Route 4 in Saint Marys Road, P.E.I.

Just after 5:30 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Kings District RCMP, Island EMS and Murray River Fire department responded to a call involving a potato truck and a commercial van. The vehicles collided near the intersection of Saint Marys East Road and Commercial Road (Route 4). A 28-year-old man, the driver of the commercial van, was pronounced dead at the scene by Island EMS. The driver of the potato truck was treated for minor injures.

An RCMP traffic reconstructionist attended the scene and Route 4 was closed for just over 4 hours. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
