Collision with Police Vehicle Leads to Impaired Driving Arrest

At approximately 5:05 p.m. on December 18, 2025, while on patrol on Route 5 in Lake Verde, a passenger vehicle collided with a marked police car leading to an impaired driving arrest.
It appears the vehicle cross the centre line and drove onto the shoulder of the opposite side of the roadway before colliding with the police vehicle. Damage occurred to the passenger sides of both vehicles, and both were towed from the scene.
No injuries were reported. A 48-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol. He later provided breath samples of over 130 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. The legal limit for a criminal offence is 80 mg.
A traffic reconstructionist attended the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
