RCMP arrest four impaired drivers since December 31

Prince Edward Island RCMP have arrested four drivers for impaired driving following separate incidents across the province since December 31.

Scotchfort – December 31, 9:29 p.m.

RCMP responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a light pole in Scotchfort. A 71-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol.

Iris – January 1, 2:02 a.m.

RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch. A 30-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving after providing breath samples nearly three times the legal limit. No one was injured.

Bredalbane – January 1, 7:11 p.m.

RCMP responded to a report of an overturned SUV in a ditch. The driver had left the scene to retrieve a tractor to remove the vehicle. A 52-year-old man was later located operating the tractor and was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol.

Head of Cardigan – January 2, 5:46 a.m.

Kings District RCMP arrested a 40-year-old man for impaired driving by alcohol during a traffic stop.

No serious injuries were reported in any of these incidents. All four drivers are scheduled to appear in court at a later date to face impaired driving-related charges.
