JET seizes, fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine and other drugs in traffic stop

On February 3, 2026 the Provincial Joint Enforcement Team (JET) and JFO made a targeted traffic stop in Stratford. Two men arrested and drug seized.
On February 3, 2026 the JET team made a targeted traffic stop in Stratford. Police seized approximately, two oz of fentanyl, one oz of crystal meth, 1/2 oz of cocaine 10 hydromorphone pills and bear spray. One occupant had outstanding warrants for failing to attend court and the driver was driving in contravention of a driving prohibition order.
Kyle James Hainge has been charged with
- Trafficking fentanyl
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with probation order.
He was remanded into custody with his next court appearance on February 23, 2026 in Charlottetown Provincial Court. The driver will appear in court at a later date.
“The discovery of such a diverse range of illegal drugs in significant quantities highlights the ongoing threat these substances pose to our communities’ safety. The fact that both occupants were in violation of court orders shows the important work that the JET team does to both protect our communities and ensure those who won’t obey the court are held accountable” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis Commanding Officer for the PEI RCMP.
This investigation was conducted by the JET team with the assistance of the Prince County Joint Forces Operations (JFO).
The Joint Enforcement Team (JET) is a stand-alone policing unit comprised of officers from the PEI RCMP, RCMP Eastern Region Federal Policing, Summerside Police Services and Kensington Police Services who work to address drugs and organized crime in PEI.
