RCMP stop four impaired drivers over the weekend

The Prince Edward Island RCMP arrested four impaired drivers between February 13 and February 15 across the province.

February 13 – 1:47 p.m., Covehead
RCMP responded to a report of a tractor in the ditch. A 51‑year‑old man was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol. He later provided breath samples registering approximately three times the legal limit.

February 13 – 7:45 p.m., McNeills Mills
RCMP Traffic Services and PEI Conservation Officers were conducting joint patrols on trails and roads in western PEI when they stopped an SUV. The driver was arrested for impaired driving by cannabis.

February 14 – 2:02 a.m., Stratford
RCMP responded to a vehicle in the ditch. A 23‑year‑old man was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol. He was given a breath demand but refused to comply. Refusing a breath demand carries penalties similar to impaired driving.

February 15 – 7:15 p.m., Suffolk
Police received a report of a vehicle in the ditch and located the driver behind the wheel. A 32‑year‑old man was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples reading approximately 2.5 times the legal limit.

No injuries were reported in any of these incidents. All accused individuals are expected to appear in court at later dates as part of ongoing investigations.
