A Kings County woman has died as a result of a pedestrian collision involving a semi-tractor trailer.
On Friday, February 20, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Kings District RCMP received a 911 call regarding a collision involving a single motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the parking lot near the Superstore in Montague. Island EMS and Montague Fire Department were also dispatched. An RCMP traffic reconstructionist attended the scene and PEI RCMP gathered statements from witnesses.
The woman was initially taken to the QEH in Charlottetown but was later transferred to the Queen Ellizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Just before noon on Saturday, February 21, 2026, PEI RCMP were advised by the Halifax Coroner’s Office that the woman had passed.
The investigation is ongoing and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
