8 Impaired Driving Arrests This Week by RCMP

Between February 27 and March 5, 2026, PEI RCMP made eight impaired driving arrests across the province. These incidents included impairment by alcohol, cannabis, and situations involving collisions and roadside checkpoints.
February 27 — 2:00 p.m., Baldwin Road
PEI RCMP Traffic Services stopped a youth during a traffic stop and detected the smell of cannabis. A roadside screening device registered a fail, and a subsequent blood demand was made as part of the investigation.
February 27 — 7:59 p.m., Montague
Kings District RCMP responded to a minor parking lot collision. A 37-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol.
February 27 — 8:02 p.m., Brookvale
RCMP Traffic Services conducted a checkpoint which resulted in a 43‑year‑old man being arrested for impaired driving by cannabis. After failing a roadside test, a blood demand was issued.
February 28 — 12:22 a.m., Ellerslie-Bideford
Prince District RCMP responded to a single‑vehicle crash that sent two people to hospital. The 23‑year‑old driver was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol causing bodily harm, and a blood demand was issued.
March 1 — 1:10 a.m., Ellerslie-Bideford
While responding to another call, officers located a 34‑year‑old woman behind the wheel of a running vehicle. She was arrested for care and control while impaired by alcohol.
March 3 — 12:12 p.m., Rollo Bay
An RCMP officer working in Kings District stopped a vehicle for speeding and determined that the 22‑year‑old driver was impaired by cannabis. He was arrested and issued a blood demand.
March 3 — 8:12 p.m., New Perth
Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle stuck on a snowmobile trail. The 52‑year‑old driver was arrested for impaired driving by alcohol.
March 4 — 1:15 p.m., Wellington Centre
RCMP Traffic Services were conducting traffic enforcement when they encountered a 25‑year‑old man driving while impaired by cannabis. He was arrested and issued a blood demand.
Last year, more than 30% of impaired drivers arrested by RCMP were identified through tips from the public.
