The RCMP’s Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS), with assistance from the Joint Forces Operation (JFO), the Joint Enforcement Team (JET), and East Prince RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence in Mont Carmel on May 27, 2026.

Police seized 48.7 grams of fentanyl, a firearm, and additional weapons as a result of the search.

A 29-year-old man, Tyson Wall, appeared in court yesterday and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a firearm while prohibited
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
  • Breach of a release order
  • Breach of probation

Wall was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court today at 1:00 p.m.

“Fentanyl is a highly potent synthetic opioid—up to dozens of times stronger than heroin or morphine—making even small quantities far more dangerous and a significant driver of overdose deaths compared to other illicit drugs,” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, Commanding Officer of the PEI RCMP. “It is commonly sold in 0.1-gram quantities, making this a significant seizure.”
