Charge laid in suspicious death on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation

On March 21, 2025 just before 3 a.m., File Hills First Nations Police Service received a report of a medical emergency on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation. The victim died in hospital. Further investigation determined the death was suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP was notified.
As a result of continued investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, in conjunction with multiple RCMP investigative support teams and Regina Police Service, a teen from Regina, Sk. has been arrested and charged with one count, manslaughter, section 236(a) of the Criminal Code, in relation to the death of 31-year-old Drew Jack of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
The youth cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
