On April 12, 2025 at approximately 12:50 a.m. Prince Albert Police (PAPS) were called to the 2700 block of 15th Avenue East. Initial information stated a male was robbed of his truck at gun point by three people with masks.

While on patrol, PAPS officers noticed what appeared to be the stolen vehicle approach an intersection near 6th Avenue East and 15th Street East. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle but it fled at a high rate of speed. Officers did not engage in a pursuit to ensure public safety.

Other officers attended the scene and located the victim with non-life-threatening injuries; he was treated by Parkland Ambulance.

Upon further investigation, PAPS officers learned three suspect males and one female were being given ride in a taxi when they allegedly brandished a firearm and ordered the taxi driver to follow the truck to a business in the 2700 block of 15th Avenue East, where the truck was then stolen at gunpoint.

On April 12, 2025 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Pelican Narrows RCMP were made aware of a possible sighting of the stolen truck, which was reported to be out of fuel.

Officers from Pelican Narrows RCMP Detachment and Saskatchewan RCMP La Ronge Crime Reduction Team responded and located the truck travelling slowly on Highway #135, approximately 10 kilometres north of the Highway #106 junction.

RCMP officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. The truck stopped, however, the driver began making repeated attempts to restart the truck. The driver successfully restarted the truck and began backing up. Officers positioned their police vehicles to prevent the truck from fleeing. The truck stopped again, and the driver continued to attempt to restart it. The driver and multiple occupants did not comply with the officers’ demands to stop and exit the truck.

RCMP officers approached the truck, removed and arrested the adult male driver and an adult male passenger. During the arrest of the driver and passenger, a third male occupant fled into the nearby woods on foot.

During subsequent searches of the truck and arrested suspects, officers located and seized a prohibited firearm and credit cards determined to be stolen.

Officers searched the surrounding area for the male who fled. He was not immediately located. Pelican Narrows RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying this individual. A photo is attached. Anyone with information is asked to call 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
