Carrot River RCMP asks the public to report sightings of Gregory Whitehead and Harvey Whitehead

On May 17, 2025 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Carrot River RCMP received a report of a shooting at a residence on Red Earth Cree Nation.

Officers immediately responded and located an injured adult male, who was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. Investigation determined two suspects entered the residence. A firearm was discharged, injuring the victim. The suspects then fled from the residence.

Carrot River RCMP – with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services, Critical Incident Response Team and Remotely Piloted Aircraft System – searched the area. Officers recovered a knife and a firearm. The suspects were not located.

As a result of continued investigation, 38-year-old Gregory Whitehead and 40-year-old Harvey Whitehead, both from Red Earth Cree Nation, are each charged with:

- one count, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244(b), Criminal Code;

- one count, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;

- one count, possession of a firearm while prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;

- one count, possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, Section 95, Criminal Code;

- one count, use of a firearm in the commission of an offence, Section 85(1)(a), Criminal Code; and

- one count, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, Section 108(1), Criminal Code.

Gregory Whitehead is also charged with one count of fail to comply with undertaking, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code.

Harvey Whitehead is also charged with an additional count of possession of a firearm while prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests and Carrot River RCMP are actively working to locate them. Officers ask members of the public to report all sightings of Gregory Whitehead and Harvey Whitehead and information on their whereabouts.

Gregory Whitehead is described as approximately 5’7” and 165 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoo sleeves on both arms.

Harvey Whitehead is described as approximately 5’6” and 180 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo that says ‘Krazy’ on his right hand, as well as a large scar on his head.
