Melfort RCMP: two charged after police vehicles damaged in detachment lot

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Melfort RCMP received a report that a truck was striking parked police vehicles at the Melfort RCMP detachment parking lot.
Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined a truck was driving around the area erratically and struck three parked police vehicles and two dumpsters.
The male driver then exited the truck. A female passenger got in the driver’s seat and drove away.
The male initially resisted but was arrested a short time later.
Officers located the truck nearby and arrested the female.
One of the police vehicles was extensively damaged and is no longer driveable. Another will require repairs. None of the police vehicles was occupied when they were struck. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
As a result of continued investigation, 45-year-old Terrance Whitehead from Saskatoon is charged with:
- one count, operate a conveyance in a manner that was dangerous to the public, Section 320.13, Criminal Code;
- one count, operate a conveyance while impaired by drug, Section 320.13(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
- one count, resist arrest, Section 129(a), Criminal Code.
The adult female is charged with one count, operate a conveyance while impaired by drug, Section 320.13(1)(a), Criminal Code.
Both appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on June 17.
