Saskatchewan RCMP: three charged after cash seizure during Big River traffic stop

Three individuals have been charged after Saskatchewan RCMP seized a significant amount of cash in Big River, SK.

On June 9, 2025, officers with the La Ronge Crime Reduction Team were conducting proactive traffic stops on Highway #55 in Big River.

During a traffic stop, officers determined an adult male driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Officers then located a small amount of cocaine in the vehicle. The driver and two adult female occupants were arrested. During an additional search of the vehicle, officers located and seized approximately $11,980 in cash.

As a result of investigation, 26-year-old Robert Lemaigre, 44-year-old Tanya Herman and 26-year-old Tyra Herman, all from Clearwater River Dene Nation, are each charged with one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Robert Lemaigre, Tanya Herman and Tyra Herman are scheduled to appear in court in Big River on August 12, 2025.
