Deschambault Lake RCMP ask public to report sightings of Earl Ballantyne

UPDATE: 31-year-old Earl Ballantyne was arrested in relation to this outstanding warrant and separate charges in relation to a separate investigation on August 8, 2025. He will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Deschambault Lake RCMP arrested Tyler Ballantyne on July 30, 2025, in Deschambault Lake. He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 31, 2025 (Information #90578483).

As a result of further investigation into this incident, an adult female was arrested in Deschambault Lake on July 31, 2025.

21-year-old Summer Durocher of Deschambault Lake is charged with:

- one count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;

- one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, robbery with violence, Section 344(1)(b), Criminal Code; and

- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code.

On July 25, 2025, Deschambault Lake RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence in Deschambault Lake. 

Investigation determined a victim was assaulted by a group of individuals, who did not let them leave the residence. The victim was later able to escape. They were treated at the hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

On July 28, six individuals were arrested in Deschambault Lake with the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Provincial General Investigation Section and Critical Incident Response Team.

As a result of continued investigation, 31-year-old Earl Ballantyne, 19-year-old Tyler Ballantyne, 29-year-old Stephan Sakima Ballantyne, 30-year-old Zachary Ballantyne, 26-year-old Raeanna Michel, 20-year-old Sharona Custer, 20-year-old Sherri Custer, and a female teenager are each charged with:

- one count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;

- one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;

- one count, robbery with violence, Section 344(1)(b), Criminal Code; and

- one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code.

The female teenager is also charged with one count of assault, Section 266, Criminal Code.

Earl Ballantyne is also charged with possession of a firearm without holding a license, Section 91(1), Criminal Code and one count, uttering threats, Section 264.1(1), Criminal Code.

Sherri Custer, Sharona Custer, Zachary Ballantyne and the female teenager are all scheduled to appear in court in Deschambault Lake on October 1, 2025. Stephan Sakima Ballantyne and Raeanna Michel have been remanded into custody until their next scheduled appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 31, 2025.

Warrants have been issued for the arrests of Earl Ballantyne and Tyler Ballantyne and Deschambault Lake RCMP are actively working to locate and arrest them.

Earl Ballantyne is described as approximately 5’8” with a medium build. He has black hair and brown eyes. A photo of him is attached.

Tyler Ballantyne sometimes goes by the name “Tyler Michel’. He is described as approximately 6’ and 140 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. A photo of him is attached.

They are known to frequent Deschambault Lake and may travel to Pelican Narrows or Prince Albert, but their current whereabouts are unknown.
