Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes: male teenager charged with second-degree murder

On August 2, 2025 at approximately 7:15 a.m., Stanley Mission RCMP received a report of an injured male at a residence on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band community of Grandmother’s Bay.

Officers responded and located a seriously injured male, who was later pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as 23-year-old Dillon Charles from Grandmother’s Bay. His family has been notified and victim services made available to them.

The death was considered suspicious, and a male teenager was arrested at the scene. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.

As a result of continued investigation, a male teenager from Grandmother’s Bay is charged with one count, second-degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code. He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on August 5, 2025.

We are unable to identify the male teenager as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate.
