Call for service results in search warrant in Kamsack Detachment area

On October 9, 2025, around 10:30 p.m., Kamsack RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence in the RM of Cote. A 49-year-old man was arrested.

While on scene at the residence, responding officers noted multiple firearms and suspicious items.

A search warrant was executed at the residence on October 10, 2025. Evidence was seized during the search warrant including 10 firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected drugs and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of investigation and the search warrant, 49-year-old Trevor Chernoff is charged with:

• 1 count, possession of a substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• 1 count, possession of a substance (psilocybin) for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• 10 counts, careless storage of a firearm, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
• 1 count, careless storage of ammunition, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
• 2 counts, assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code

Chernoff will appear in Kamsack Provincial Court on October 28, 2025.
