Humboldt RCMP investigating fatal collision

On October 3, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Humboldt RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway #16 and Highway #20, near Lanigan, SK.

Officers responded immediately along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a SUV and tractor-trailer unit collided. A passenger in the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as an adult male who is citizen of another country. His family has been notified. We are not providing additional details about the deceased.

The driver and two additional passengers were in the SUV at the time of the collision. They were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

The lone adult male driver in the tractor-trailer unit did not report any injuries to police.

Highway #16 was temporarily closed but has since been re-opened.

Humboldt RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
