Melfort RCMP investigating fatal collision

On October 9, 2025 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Melfort RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #3, approximately two kilometers west of Melfort, SK.

Officers immediately responded, along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a truck and SUV collided. The driver of the truck was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 31-year-old male from James Smith Cree Nation. A passenger from the truck was transported to hospital by EMS where he was later declared deceased. He has been identified as a 24-year-old male from James Smith Cree Nation.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 59-year-old male from Kinistino, SK.

Their families have been notified.

Melfort RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
