Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes: Male charged with second degree murder

On August 8, 2025 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a report of a male who was injured at a residence on 1st Avenue NW in Swift Current, SK.

Officers immediately responded. The male was taken to hospital where he was later declared deceased. He has been identified as 29-year-old Matthew Neufeld from Swift Current, SK. His family has been notified.

As the death was considered suspicious, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.

As a result of continued investigation, an adult male was arrested in Swift Current on October 15, 2025. 54-year-old Christopher Sean Foster from Swift Current, SK is charged with second degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code.

Christopher Foster will appear in Regina Provincial Court on October 17, 2025.

Officers immediately responded. The male was taken to hospital where he was later declared deceased. He has been identified as a 29-year-old from Swift Current. His family has been notified. We are unable to provide additional details about the male at this time.

The male’s death is considered suspicious. As a result, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken carriage of the investigation.

There will be an increased police presence on 1st Avenue NW in Swift Current as this investigation continues.
