Nine firearms and three machetes seized by RCMP as part of drug trafficking investigation

Nine firearms and three machetes were seized and four people are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation in La Ronge by Saskatchewan RCMP.

On November 27, 2025, officers with the Saskatchewan RCMP La Ronge Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) executed a search warrant on a residence in Sucker River, SK, following an investigation.

Several occupants were located and arrested inside the residence. A search of the residence resulted in the following items being seized:

  • approximately 369.5 grams of crack cocaine;
  • 9 firearms, including sawed off 12 gauge shotguns and sawed off .22 caliber rifles;
  • 2 imitation firearms;
  • 3 machetes;
  • bear spray;
  • drug paraphernalia; and
  • various types of ammunition.

As a result of investigation, 33-year-old Leroy Eninew and 32-year-old Marjorie Eninew from Sucker River, SK are each charged with:

  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, Section 95(1)(b), Criminal Code; and
  • two counts, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code.

Leroy Eninew and Marjorie Eninew appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on November 28, 2025.

Two male youth from the La Ronge Detachment area have each been charged with:

  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, Section 95(1)(b), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, weapons/firearms possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

We cannot provide further details as identifying the youth is prohibited under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both youths appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on November 27, 2025.
