Update: Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death in Meadow Lake

As a result of continued investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, have determined the death of the 29-year-old female from Waterhen Lake First Nation to be non-suspicious in nature.

As there is no criminality involved in this investigation, we will not be sharing further details to be mindful of the privacy of the victim and those involved.

Background

2025-11-29

On November 28, 2025, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of an unresponsive person in a parking lot near the junction of Highway #4 and 1 Ave W. in Meadow Lake.

Officers immediately responded and located an adult female, who was declared deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 29-year-old female from Waterhen Lake First Nation. Her family has been notified.

The female’s death is currently considered suspicious in nature. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating with the assistance of the Meadow Lake Detachment, North Battleford Police Dog Service and North Battleford Forensic Identification Services, in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. 

Anyone with information about the female’s death, or who saw any suspicious activity in the Highway #4/1 Ave. W area early on November 28, should report it to RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP.
