On January 8 around 2:45 p.m., Stanley Mission RCMP received a report of an intoxicated male acting aggressively at a residence in Stanley Mission. RCMP responded and were told the male was in a crawl space and may have a firearm. RCMP officers entered a room where the crawl space hatch was and located the male suspect in a corner of the room with a firearm. The firearm was pointed at an officer, but was dropped when given verbal commands to do so.

The firearm was determined to be a pellet rifle. Another pellet rifle and two swords were also located and seized in the crawl space. An assault-style BB gun, axe and large knife were seized from the main residence in relation to this investigation.

A Conducted Energy Weapon was used after the man resisted arrest and tried to escape police custody. He was assessed by medical personnel as a precaution and released back into police custody.
