Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team-Gang Task Force (CRT-GTF) – assisted by Saskatoon Police Service Tactical Support Unit (TSU) – charged an adult male after fentanyl, methamphetamine, opioids, and firearms were seized at residences in Saskatoon and Radisson, SK.

On January 13, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford CRT-GTF, with support from Saskatoon Police Service TSU, executed a search warrant at a residence on 8th Street East in Saskatoon as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

While at the residence, officers located and seized approximately 231 grams of fentanyl, approximately 115 grams of methamphetamine, more than 40 pharmaceutical-style opioid pills, a firearm, ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a sum of cash. Officers arrested six individuals at the residence.

As a result of continued investigation, on January 13, 2026, the North Battleford CRT-GTF executed a second search warrant at a residence on Goodrich Street in Radisson, SK. During a search of the residence, a sawed-off firearm, a handgun, ammunition, and two firearm magazines were located and seized by police.

Resulting from further investigation, 38-year-old Chad Mason from Saskatoon, SK is charged with:

  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • sixteen counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
  • three counts, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a restricted firearm with readily available ammunition, Section 95(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of firearm obtained by crime, Section 96(1), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, fail to comply with release order condition, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code;
  • three counts, careless storage of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Section 355(b), Criminal Code.

The five other individuals who were initially arrested were later released from police custody without charge.

Chad Mason appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on January 14, 2026.
