Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team (CRT) – with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team – seized 10 firearms and methamphetamine at a residential property on Flying Dust First Nation.
On January 27, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake CRT and Critical Incident Response Team obtained a warrant and searched a residential property on Flying Dust First Nation as part of an ongoing drug trafficking and firearms investigation.
During the search, officers located approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine, five long guns, four airguns, a prohibited firearm, ammunition, knives, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A male and two females were arrested at the residence.
As a result of investigation, 37-year-old Lennex Merasty-Morin from Flying Dust First Nation is charged with:
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
- two counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(1), Criminal Code; and
- two counts, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code.
The two females were released from police custody without charge.
Lennex Merasty-Morin appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on January 28, 2026.
