Turnor Lake RCMP arrested and charged a wanted male after he damaged a police vehicle and fled from police.
On February 1, 2026 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Turnor Lake RCMP located a wanted male parked in an SUV outside a residence on Tyrrell Street in Turnor Lake. The male was wanted on warrant from Saskatoon Police Service related to an assault investigation and from La Loche RCMP for failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.
Turnor Lake RCMP activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. As an officer got out of the police vehicle and approached the SUV, the SUV began to drive and collided with the police vehicle. The SUV then reversed, colliding with the police vehicle a second time and also colliding with a house, narrowly missing the police officer who was outside. The SUV then fled toward Highway #909. The police vehicle was damaged, but the officers at the scene were not injured.
Shortly after, Turnor Lake RCMP located the SUV in the ditch near Willow Street in Turnor Lake. A female passenger was inside. Investigation determined the male driver of the SUV assaulted the female passenger and refused to let her leave the vehicle. The male later exited the vehicle and fled into a nearby treed area. The female victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
As a result of continued investigation, officers located and arrested the male at a residence in Turnor Lake later that same day.
