Punnichy RCMP: male charged after break-and-enter and arson

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, around 6:45 a.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of a fire at a residence on George Gordon First Nation, SK.
RCMP officers immediately responded along with local fire services. No injuries were reported to police. The house was heavily damaged.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., Punnichy RCMP received reports of a male walking with a firearm on George Gordon First Nation. Officers responded and arrested the male.
Investigation determined the male broke into a residence, stole a firearm and started a fire.
As a result of investigation, 36-year-old Myles Anderson of Regina, SK is charged with:
- one count, arson, Section 434, Criminal Code;
- one count, break and enter to steal firearm, Section 98, Criminal Code;
- one count, theft under $5,000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code;
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code; and
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a); Criminal Code.
