Prince Albert CRT charge male after firearm seized in La Loche

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) – with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Prince Albert Police Service CRT – seized two firearms along with ammunition at a residential property in La Loche. 

On February 4, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert CRT obtained a warrant to search a residential property in La Loche as a result of an ongoing investigation. 

During the search, officers located two firearms; one shotgun and one airgun, along with ammunition. A photo of the seized firearms is attached. 

Three adults were arrested at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Kelsey Herman of La Loche was charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code.

The two other adults were released from police custody without charge. 

Kelsey Herman is scheduled to appear in La Loche Provincial Court on April 9, 2026.
