Southey RCMP charge man after break-ins

Southey RCMP have charged an adult male after receiving two reports of break-ins in Southey on February 10, 2026.

At approximately 1:35 a.m., Southey RCMP received a report a suspicious male was knocking at the door of a residence. At approximately 1:40 a.m., they received a report of a suspicious male inside a different residence; further investigation determined the door was damaged as the person entered it. Just after 2 a.m., they received a report of a suspicious male inside a third residence.

Investigation determined the same male was involved in the reported incidents.

No items were reported as missing and no one was physically injured in the residences the male entered.

Officers patrolled the area and located and arrested an adult male in Southey.

As a result of continued investigation, a 46-year-old male from George Gordon First Nation is charged with two counts of being unlawfully in a dwelling, Section 349(1), Criminal Code and one count, mischief under $5,000, Section 430(4), Criminal Code.

He is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on March 4, 2026.
