Battlefords RCMP arrest two suspects after responding to a break and enter in progress

Battlefords RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress, resulting in the arrest and charging of two adult males. 

On February 19, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Saulteaux First Nation. Officers responded immediately and identified a suspect fleeing on foot up a hill in the distance. Officers followed the suspect’s tracks in the snow. He was located and arrested at a nearby residence. 

Further investigation by Battlefords RCMP officers indicated that a second suspect may be at the residence where the initial report originated. Officers returned to the residence and secured the perimeter. Officers conducted a search inside the residence and located the suspect hiding in the fridge, who was then arrested.

As a result of this investigation, 26-year-old Andy Swiftwolfe from North Battleford, SK is charged with:

  • one count of attempting to break and enter with intent, Section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count of possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
  • one count of possession of break-in instruments, Section 351(1), Criminal Code.

Andy Swiftwolfe was also arrested on a number of warrants, including failing to attend court, possession of property obtained by crime, weapon possession, and assault. He appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on February 23, 2026. 

24-year-old Luckas Whitford from Saulteaux First Nation, SK is charged with two counts of attempting to break and enter with intent, Section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code.
