White Butte RCMP investigating fatal collision

On March 7, 2026 at approximately 8:15 a.m., White Butte RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the eastbound lanes of Highway #1, east of the White City overpass.

Officers responded immediately, along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a pick-up truck and car collided. Both passengers of the car were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. They have been identified as a 39-year-old female and 44-year-old male from Melville, SK. Their families have been notified. 

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital by STARS with injuries described as non-life threatening. The passenger of the truck was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life threatening.

White Butte RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
