Whitehorse RCMP seize drugs and alcohol shipment to Old Crow

On May 6th, 2025, Whitehorse RCMP was contacted by Air North about a cargo shipment destined for Old Crow that had been found to contain a large quantity of liquor. Old Crow is a dry community and liquor is not allowed.

RCMP Members went to the airport and took possession of the shipment. There were twenty-four 375 ml and three 1.14 litre bottles of vodka in the package. Also found was a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.

Further investigation resulted in a charge against Kaushee Marie Williams, aged 47, of Whitehorse for:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule 1: Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • Attempt to send liquor to a place where liquor may not lawfully be kept (Old Crow) Section 75(3) of the Liquor Act.

Williams’ first court appearance is scheduled for July 9th, 2025, in Whitehorse. The drugs and liquor were confiscated and will be destroyed.
