Whitehorse RCMP seize drugs and alcohol shipment to Old Crow

On May 6^th, 2025, Whitehorse RCMP was contacted by Air North about a cargo shipment destined for Old Crow that had been found to contain a large quantity of liquor. Old Crow is a dry community and liquor is not allowed.

RCMP Members went to the airport and took possession of the shipment. There were twenty-four 375 ml and three 1.14 litre bottles of vodka in the package. Also found was a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.

Further investigation resulted in a charge against Kaushee Marie Williams, aged 47, of Whitehorse for:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule 1: Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• Attempt to send liquor to a place where liquor may not lawfully be kept (Old Crow) Section 75(3) of the Liquor Act.

Williams’ first court appearance is scheduled for July 9^th, 2025, in Whitehorse. The drugs and liquor were confiscated and will be destroyed.
