June 28, 2025 10:00 am update: Whitehorse RCMP advise they are clear of the area.
June 28, 2025 at 1:30 am - Whitehorse RCMP advise the public there is a large police presence in the area of the Skky Hotel. Police ask the public to avoid the area. The is no public safety risk.
Police request anyone with dash camera footage who traveled in the area between 11:30 pm and 12:30 am to contact police. The area of interest includes the Skky Hotel, the Alaska Highway corridor near the airport and Hillcrest subdivision. Please contact the RCMP at 867-667-5555 if you have camera footage.
