Fatal Collision on the Alaska Highway

On September 28, 2025 Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a collision on the Alaska Highway.
Whitehorse RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on the Alaska Highway between Azure Road and Kathleen Road at 10:33 pm. Two passenger van-style vehicles were involved in the collision, one of them caught on fire.
RCMP, Emergency Medical Services and the City of Whitehorse Fire Department attended the scene, one adult male driver of one of the vehicles, was located deceased. The other driver, also an adult male was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic was detoured through Crestview for approximately 4 hours to allow for an RCMP traffic analyst to investigate the scene.
RCMP continue to investigate the collision and are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage. If you have video footage from September 28 from 10 pm until 11 pm in this area of the Alaska Highway, please contact the Whitehorse RCMP at 867-667-5555.
