Update to missing canoeist on Teslin River

The RCMP is providing an update regarding the search for Dominic Bandorski, who was reported missing on June 11, 2026, after his canoe and personal belongings were located on the Teslin River.
Since Mr. Bandorski was reported missing, extensive search efforts have been conducted by RCMP and Yukon Search and Rescue personnel along the Teslin and Yukon Rivers and surrounding areas.
The search has included multiple helicopter patrols, a fixed-wing aircraft search, boat patrols, and ground searches using off-road vehicles and RCMP Police Dog Services. Search teams also made contact with numerous paddlers and river users travelling the Teslin and Yukon Rivers and assessed information received from those individuals as part of the investigation.
Despite extensive air, ground, and water search efforts over several weeks, Mr. Bandorski has not been located.
The RCMP recognizes the ongoing impact this situation has had on Mr. Bandorski's family and loved ones. Investigators will continue to assess any new information that may assist in locating him.
Anyone who was travelling on the Teslin or Yukon Rivers during the period of June 4 to June 11, 2026, and who may have information relevant to this investigation, is asked to contact Whitehorse RCMP at 867-667-5555.
