Sylvan Lake RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision - update

Lacombe County, Alta. – On July 5, 2025, at 9:55 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 766 and Highway 12. Upon arrival, the two occupants of a GMC Sierra, 75-year-old and 72-year-old residents of Lacombe, were deceased. The two occupants of a Dodge truck, 23-year-old and 19-year-old, residents of Red Deer, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

RCMP remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation. Police are now clear and normal traffic flow has resumed. 

The RCMP send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
